Supervisor's Guidebook for Family Centered Practice  Family Centered Practice is required as part of best practice in the child welfare field. The Child and Family Service Reviews require that child welfare systems ensure efforts are made to engage the family (however family is defined) from the point of the safety assessment through case closure (safety, permanency and well-being).
